Our 18th Poem of the Week, being displayed now around the school, is 'Poem for a Man with no Sense of Smell' by Kate Clanchy, which comes from her 1999 book Samarkand. A Scottish poet born in 1965, her other books are Slattern (1996) and most recently Newborn (2004), which is about pregnancy, birth and looking after a baby.'Poem for a Man with no Sense of Smell' starts:-

This is simply to inform you :
That the thickest line in the kink of my hand
Smells like the feel of an old school desk,
The deep carved names sleek with sweat ...
